Fractal Buddha!
Interesting video. I always fascinated about the fractal formation since I first learn about it.

Re: Fractal Buddha!
Is it possible one of these fractals to stop duplicating (or triplicating) further fractals?
Is it possible one fractal to change it's a direction?
What is the nutriment for fractal?

Re: Fractal Buddha!
The fractals shown in the video that I saw (I just glanced quickly at a few moments here and there of the video) are basically just graphs of mathematical equations being presented in a very colorful way....I think that nutriment has nothing to do with it at all....it is just mathematics.

Re: Fractal Buddha!
My personal opinion is nature has some form of fractal behavior.

I was going to post a similar cool video but seems like it was removed or censored by youtube.
If anyone knows how to recover youtube videos, the url is (see edit).
It's an old video which seems like it came from the early 90s or late 80s. It wasn't Buddhist but it showed really cool examples of how the 5 aggregates along with forms are especially deceptive.
edit: I found another link with the video, see my thread here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=33362

Re: Fractal Buddha!
There is indeed a mathematical law of namarupa in nature. Purely causal.
The Greeks wouldn't even permit individuals into their temple if they were not fluent in geometry.
How far we have come since then.....
Re: Fractal Buddha!
This is pretty much the same thing as saying that nature has some form of mathematical behaviour.....the usual wisdom is that mathematics is a good tool for modeling nature......but different people see things differently.
Given your opinion....what does it lead to?

Not the mathematics but the understanding what is happening there is not you.

Re: Fractal Buddha!
Nature is also called dhamma, by some ajahns ...
If you didn't care
What happened to me
And I didn't care for you
We would zig-zag our way
Through the boredom and pain
Occasionally glancing up through the rain
Wondering which of the
Buggers to blame
And watching for pigs on the wing

Re: Fractal Buddha!
Isn't five aggregate nature?

Re: Fractal Buddha!
Well, now we are not talking about fractals or mathematics at all....now we are talking about the clinging aggretates.
I think the clinging aggregates are fabricated categories used to communicate about certain human experiences....I think that nature is a fabricated category used to communicate about certain perceptions we have of things that we describe as being either exterior to ourselves (the idea of humans embedded in nature) or as an over arching concept whose scope includes certain perceptions of certain things physically external to our bodies but also including our bodies (the idea of humans as being part of nature). For me the five aggregates and nature are not the same thing at all.

In Buddhism, they talk about Pathavi (earth), Apo(Water), Thejo(fire), Vayo (air), Akasa (Space) and Vinnana (Consciousness).
