I came across this school of Hinduism recently, and found it intriguing.

There are some similarities with Buddhism, an obvious difference is that while Samkhya is atheistic, it does posit a soul ( purusa ), a sort of pure consciousness.
Any thoughts?

In this world, there are many people acting and yearning for the Mara's world; some for the Brahma's world; and very few for the Unborn.

Also, mike Cross, that sometimes posts on SC, has done a wonderful and stunning translation of the Book XII: Arāḍadarśano [Visit to Arāḍa] - (12.68 - 12.83), from the Buddhacarita.

Re: Samkhya
"I AM NAUGHT; NAUGHT IS MINE - THERE IS NO EGO"
Rather similar to what we find the suttas, "This is not me, this is not mine, this is not who I am."
The pivotal difference I see is that in Buddhism consciousness is seen as transient and conditional, whereas in Samkhya it is seen as eternal and unconditioned.
