Don't joke like that. I am old. I may have a heart attack.
There is always an official executioner. If you try to take his place, It is like trying to be a master carpenter and cutting wood. If you try to cut wood like a master carpenter, you will only hurt your hand.

I have never been able to understand Chapter 15 of the SN. :?
I think we have to accept them on faith the same way we accept what scientists saying today about the world. (Big bang etc)

Thanks but the above is not related to what I said. Also, the above, to me, does not demonstrate disenchantment & dispassion. Also, I don't believe in the Big Bang.

What particular piece of evidence of the Big Bang have you found unconvincing, gentlemen? And what alternative theory do you find more compelling?

I actually don;t know much about it but i guess something must have existed before the big bang; based on the principle of cause & effect.

None. I personally have no interest in the topic of how the universe began. This said, I think the Big Bang theory is related to this topic because, if our parents are beginningless, it seems there can be no 1st parents (no Adam & Eve).

I don't believe in the big bang either. It was really more of a medium bang or a small bang considering that there was nothing special about said bang in an infinite series of bangs that preceded it. Samsara was banging far before such a pathetically recent event that ocurred only 15 billion years ago.

Back to the topic, we should treat the elderly good, as Doodoot is an old man, I could potentially be his father, and I don't want anyone chastising my son other than myself, this is all technically speaking. Or to paraphrase Shakespeare: But now, my cousin Hamlet, and my son? If Doodoot's karma is good he will be brought up noting in the Mahasi method. :meditate:

And I wouldn't "beat him like a redheaded stepchild" :rolleye: because I'm a benevolent father.

Nor would I whip him if he were reborn as my donkey. I believe in being kind to domestic beasts.

Speaking of future parents & small bangs,

How about having super-cute fully-enlightened genetically-engineered babies transmigrated through an interdimensional wormhole from a parallel universe orchestrated by the omnipresent almighty quantum God of the all-encompassing-multiverse, with the help of that great omniscient Artificial Intelligence ?

Have you been reading the Sujato Digha Nikaya translations? He uses a lot of scifi terms like this. When I read at suttacentral sometimes it feels like a star trek convention with Spock as Buddha.

This was my last favorite one that I got a chuckle out of:
When you’re seized by the Terminator
as you give up your human life,
what can you call your own?
https://suttacentral.net/sn3.4/en/sujato

Its like it was addressed to John Conner, himself.
