This is a blog from Sam Harris who interviewed Richard J. Davidson about his new book, Training the Emotional Brain. I am going to find a copy and read this myself and thought other here might enjoy it as well. What he discusses is pretty well know to everyone here, that mediation works, but he is proving that through science. Also, I found how he choose to categorize personality types to be more effective in looking at human behavior.

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

but great rivers flow silently.

Looks redundant to the work of Daniel Goleman, Daniel J Siegel, Gerald Huther, Richard Davidson, et al, etc.... Sam Harris thinks he's so cool...
