Buddhist Q&A Forum (ala StackExchange)

Post by yuttadhammo »

Just wanted to pop in and pass along this link in case anyone here is interested in starting a Buddhist Q&A forum. There are plans in the works for adding a StackExchange for Buddhism, and they only need 16 more participants to meet the quota for acceptance. If you're interested, here's the link:

http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/19564" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you're not familiar with these things, they are a great and efficient way to ask and answer questions; they provide participation encouragement via a "karma" or "reputation" system and award badges for various achievements. Rather than replacing a proper forum, they are designed specifically for Q&A. You can check out the parent site, StackExchange, or our internal clone at http://ask.sirimangalo.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, to see how they work.

Signing up in support for the proposal is pretty easy, if it interests you either as a questioner or an "expert", please do sign up at the area51 link above.

May all be well.

Thank you Bhante. I have just followed.
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.
