Hi Paul
Not really in a position to go through motions to get to the ore of his teachings, could someone please give a summary of his interpretation of Paticcasamupada?
From what I can gather from the website it's another temporal interpretation, moment by moment - Is it akin to Buddhadasa?

The Original Teachings of the Buddha according to Ven. Pujjani, to state it honestly.
>> Do you see a man wise [enlightened/ariya] in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.<< -- Proverbs 26:12
This being is bound to samsara, kamma is his means for going beyond. -- SN I, 38.

Ven. Punnaji is a great teacher. I have been listening to his Dhamma talk in the past week. He sheds new lights into the Dhamma. I find his translations of key terms very insightful. He is not like Buddhadasa. His background is in philosophy, psychology and he was a practicing physician at one point. He loves to use modern studies of psychology and philosophy and relate it to the Dhamma.

He will cite different western philosophers on their perspective on human experience and then explain how it relates to Buddha's perspective. He explains that Buddhism is part philosophy, part psychotherapy, and part religion. He uses his experience in the medical field and his education in psychology to help modern listener to understand the Buddhist concepts.BlackBird wrote:But what sort of philosophy?

Notice that it mentions, "the Dream of Existence" so it is not referring to any eternalism, if that is the way it may have appeared.Sobeh wrote:From the site:

Also, that site was prepared by the webmaster from Malaysia, not Bhante Punnaji himself. Any errors in language would from the lay followers / webmaster, not Bhante Punnaji.

I registered for that site a few months ago when it launched. The ebooks on the site are extremely difficult to come by otherwise, so it was good they were made available. The audio/video lectures, though there are few, are very good.retrofuturist wrote:Greetings,

Metta,

I've been listening to him and reading his work for about a year and my practice has shown much improvement. His approach works very well for me. I highly recommend looking into his work further.
Here is one talk in two parts on the paticca samuppada, Jack. Unfortunately, part of the lecture is cut out, but you'll still get plenty of good info regarding his interpretation.BlackBird wrote:Hi Paul

There are plenty of other good talks on the same site (EDIT - his talks start with the jhana talk in the middle of the page and continue to the last page): http://www.buddhistelibrary.org/cpg1420 ... =45&page=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is a bench of good work with out that rigorous mind.
Someone know when his E-Course will be available with CD01-02-03-04?
Kind Regards.

I just realize Retro butchered his name. I'm sure if Bhante Punnaji was here, he would be interested in reading about Bhante Pujjani's insight.
