Masturbation of sens doors (poll)

Post by Alīno »

Hello friends,

I would like to ask what is your favorite sens door for masturbation? What is the best door in terms of effort/pleasure? What is your masturbation technique (music, painting, reading, sport...)

When we see sens door's stimulation as it is, is just the same kind of masturbation. Buddha sais about sens door masturbation as low, vulgar, etc. So in way to understand to which sens door peaoples are most attached and to provide them a true nature of sens stimulation i used the word masturbation and created the poll ;)

Let reflect about it: What is realy sens stimulation? Why it seems so plesureable?

When attached to pleasant feelings one repeatedly strokes the percieved trigger. For example if one delights in the feeling that accompanies vibrations that happen when speaking loudly then one speaks loudly. That's a kind of self-love. If one delights in the feelings of winning an argument then... etc. Food, visual art....?

Nwad, it's "sense". There's an "e" on the end. Not sens.

Reflextion, imagination, logic resoning, memorising things, thinking etc is about brain stimulation. Actualy is just about masturbating brain synapses ))

On the other side, generating sukkha and piti during bhagavana is not considered as low, vulgar etc by Buddha, because they are born from seclusion of body (sukkha) and mind (piti)

Agreed that almost all of these processes [some reflexes bypass the brain] are physically mediated through brain.

But, brain isn't a sense door. It just isn't.

Some use these wordings:
  • ear sense door
    eye sense door
    nose sense door
    tongue sense door
    body sense door
    mind sense door

And, also, Skin sense door is not a good-enough phrase.

I prefer using these:
  • Sound-sense door
    Vision-sense door
    Smell-sense door
    Taste-sense door
    Body-sense door
    Mind-sense door

[there must be more appropriate wordings, i believe]

Hi Form!

I'm not sure of where this statement is coming from, but I think it's always useful to keep in mind that tendencies are not the same as "essence".

As Sartre once said, "existence precedes essence", which I interpret as indicating that we assume that certain feature necessarily belong to certain kind of "beings" (or species), while actually, those feature might well be a product of that "being" (or species) existing in a specific envinronment or condition which make it express such feature; in other words, we assume a feature being part of the essence of a being, and not contingent to it.

With the above in mind, I think that we should not assume that X is a feature of A, and that Y is a feature of B. If there's evidence to support your claim, it'd be more precise to say "in our current social and cultural conditions, men tend to X, while women tend to Y".

It is really hard to differenciate between necessary and contingent conditions. S
Statistics don't talk about essence.

Just in case:
This is not directed specifically to you, Form.
It's for anyone who might fall in this kind of fallacious conclusions.

Kind regards!

brain ≠ mind
16. 'In what has the world originated?' — so said the Yakkha Hemavata, — 'with what is the world intimate? by what is the world afflicted, after having grasped at what?' (167)

17. 'In six the world has originated, O Hemavata,' — so said Bhagavat, — 'with six it is intimate, by six the world is afflicted, after having grasped at six.' (168)
