Section 445

Post by tharpa » Sat May 25, 2019 6:47 pm

This is the next in my humble series.

The vast majority of the Tipitika has been translated into English, but not the entirety. There are one or two (at least) books that have not been translated. There is also a lot of repetition that has been elided (replaced with ellipses). For casual study this is fine and was a practical necessity of the publisher, but for formal chanting (as I have been doing since the '80's), it is imperfect. In particular, The Path of Discrimination has a large portion elided, as it has a lot of repetition.

When I got to Chapter XXIII, Abiding Without Conflict, Section 445 Predominance of Seeing, third paragraph, I saw that there was another huge portion of text that had been elided. So I recreated the missing portion, and posted it at (The list so far is at

This post (and the link it contains) is for the sake of the very few (if any) in the present or future who might see a value in it.

Good work Tharpa, your contributions are valuable!

If anyone wants to format these texts for easier reading, I recommend - for example:
