Greetings,
Volunteer Driver Needed!
We are looking for a man to drive Luangpor Khemadhammo on his prison visits every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. We have a car to use for this purpose and can meet any expenses that you may have.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help the Sangha by assisting in driving the abbot of the monastery (Luangpor Khemadhammo OBE) three days each week as he visits Buddhist prisoners at various UK prisons. The opportunity exists to live, help out and practice at the temple when not engaged in these driving duties.
The Forest Hermitage https://foresthermitage.org.uk/ is a branch of Wat Nong Pah Pong, the late Luang Por Chah’s principal monastery in N. E. Thailand. Set in the Heart of England it is a small, peaceful Buddhist hermitage after the tradition of the forest monasteries of North East Thailand and comprises Santidhamma, the original property where the monks live and where occasional events open to the public are held, and Bhavana Dhamma, which is for nuns, female devotees and guests.
Prospective applicants should ideally hold a clean and valid UK driving licence. Unfortunately this position is only open to male drivers due to vinaya restrictions.
If you are interested, or know of anyone else who might be, please get in touch: [email protected]
