Lay practioner attire in Thailand

Post by oak1 »

Dear fellow practitioners,

On the website of Wat Pah Nanachat and Wat Marp Jan, I read that the suggested attire for men is both white pants and a white shirt. I will however also be visiting a retreat and Wat Pa Sukjai, another monastery in Thailand, where they request black pants and a white shirt.

I would like to know why the requested attire is different and whether it would be inappropriate for me to wear all white instead of the black pants at Wat Pah Sukjai, as well as the retreat.

Best wishes,
