Hannah's video describing the situation is interesting, especially where the hospital costs fluctuated, at one time going back to being "free" and "it was all a mistake" back to thousands of dollars... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SusuahrLvYs

Hannah - can you give forum members an update on your father's situation? I've tried messaging you privately to ask this, both here on the forum and to your Facebook account, but I've yet to receive a reply. Would be really good to hear first-hand from you.

Just a general observation. Before giving money online to anyone in a robe, it's worth asking for a scan of the alleged monk's Bai Sutee. You might then be able to contact the temple, abbot, and uppajjhaya to confirm the story and the person's current status as a monastic.

Trust, but verify.

.

This seems to be the same person on Twitter (he appears to be very keen on Zen!) - - his name is Phra Nuntiyo and he mentions in the entry for October 6th:
Thanks to the generosity of many, the fund for my medical expenses is up to $3,150! Thanks so much!

and this is Glen Zorn's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/glen.zorn.1

I haven't had any joy contacting Phra Nuntiyo (Glen Zorn) on twitter, despite following his account and then tweeting asking for an update (he has previously been quite active on twitter)

My message to the venerable monk was:

"Namasakarn @PhraNuntiyo , are you able to provide an update on your current condition, whereabouts and situation?"

Hannah hasn't replied to my direct messages on this forum or on her Facebook page.

I realize they aren't obliged to reply to me - but do think it would be kind of them to give an update of the current situation, not least as they have a GoFundMe account looking for donations.

Apologies for not being able to say more, but Ven. Gavesako's post provides contacts that can clarify accurately and honestly. You could also contact the Rayong Provincial Samnatput office to inquire about this individual. They work to protect the true Sangha. Without saying more -- you won't regret sending only mettā.

The goal of $7000 to help with the bhikkhu Glen Zorn's medical costs was reached a few weeks ago.
