Happy Uposatha! I think I might make the two hour journey to Wat Metta for the day. Just trying to gage my tiredness right now to see if I can drive since it's not even quite 5 am here yet.

The Asalha Puja celebrates the first structured speech that the Buddha gave after his enlightenment and is celebrated on the full moon of July (the full moon of the eighth lunar month of the Indian calendar). In this speech gives the name of 'Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta' and was with him that 'the wheel of Dhamma was set in motion' (here Dhamma means teaching). It contains the essence of the subsequent teaching of the Buddha, addressing the 'Four Noble Truths'. It was at the end of this speech, after Kondanno to have fully understood, which began the Buddhist monastic order.
