This is an excellent talk from Ajahn Amaro, covering Hiri and Ottapa, and the proper attitude to having done something wrong. Highly recommended.

Impermanent are all formations;
Their nature is to arise and vanish.
Having arisen, they cease:
Their appeasement is blissful.

Four Brahma Viharas by Ven Punnaji

Slightly different approach:
- He say Metta start by observing five precepts
- Four Brhma Viharas are not four different things, but the same thing in a different level. (each level is more sublime than the one before)
- Metta is the loving kindnes with breadth and width.
- Karuna is the loving kindness with breadth, width and depth
- Muditha is the happiness of selfless lovingkindness
- Upekkha is the mind without disturbance
