Hello all - I thought you'd be interested in a series of videos uploaded to the Portland Friends of the Dhamma YouTube channel (which I personally maintain, if you have any comments or questions) featuring Ajaan Geoff / Thanissaro from his recent weekend non-residential retreat in late October 2017.

Visit our channel below and navigate to the "Monastic Dhamma Talks" playlist.
Lots of great stories and dhamma here! I was fortunate enough to attend part of it and had some assistance filming sessions I couldn't attend myself.

Right now, it's like this...

I have not found many videos of Ajahn Thanissaro (there are many talks and writings, though). Here is one where you can see the man himself as he speaks.

Not only Buddha discovered not-self!!!

I couldn’t live with myself any longer. And in this a question arose without an answer: who is the ‘I’ that cannot live with the self? What is the self? I felt drawn into a void! I didn’t know at the time that what really happened was the mind-made self, with its heaviness, its problems, that lives between the unsatisfying past and the fearful future, collapsed. It dissolved. The next morning I woke up and everything was so peaceful. The peace was there because there was no self. Just a sense of presence or "beingness," just observing and watching.

You can watch some of his talks in Youtube.

I've been listening to some of Ajahn Sona's talks during longish car trips and I quite like his style. He references the suttas and Dhamma teachings pretty often, with helpful commentary and practical tips from his own experience and practice.

This talk is called "How to Gradually Reduce Sensual Desires", and it covers this important aspect of Buddhism in a simple and clear way.

I have found that Ajahn Brahmali has a great voice for giving talks.

Piya Tan—Why Buddhism is True-2018

An insightful talk by Piya Tan inspired by the book 'Why Buddhism is True: The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment' by evolutionary psychologist Robert Wright.

I found Piya Tan's dharmafarer.org page while doing a deep search for resources on Buddhanussati. He has an extensive Sutta Discovery series and YouTube channel where he provides thorough and penetrating commentary on the Buddhist texts.

Excerpt from his biographical page
Piya Tan, who works on the Sutta Discovery Project, and teaches them, was a former Theravada monk for 20 years. Today he is a full time lay Dharma teacher specializing in early Buddhism. He was consultant and regular lecturer to the Buddhist Studies Team (BUDS) that successfully introduced Buddhist Studies in Singapore Secondary Schools in the 1980s. After that, he was invited as a visiting scholar to the University of California at Berkeley, USA. He has written many ground-breaking and educational books on Buddhism (such as Total Buddhist Work) and social surveys (such as Buddhist Currents and Charisma in Buddhism).
Sutta Discovery Series:
- Volume 1 - 9
- Volume 10 - 19
- Volume 20 - 29
- Volume 30 - 39
- Volume 40 -49
- Volume 50 - 59
