I think even occasional drinking will hinder your meditation.

dear sarath

dont drink, if you meditate, you need to be mindful. percepts cannot be mixed. look at your own mind. you will know how to get rid of Evild deeds if you see you mind(your thoughts). you will have a good virtue and if you develop it further it will take you to the next stages, SAMADHI / WISDOM.
