There are lots of sites with free downloads of Buddhist texts and books but can anybody recommend any good ebook versions of the Pali Canon in English? I've got Kindles that I use for reading at work or out and about and it would be nice to have something meaningful on the to read rather than some of the novels I've got on the go at the moment.
I like the look of the Maurice Walshe ( http://www.amazon.com/Long-Discourses-B ... 0861711033 ) translations but to buy the hard copy books would cost me about £150 and if I don't get on with them it's a lt of money to waste on four books I'll never read.
I was hoping that somebody more experienced than myself may have already found the ones that are useful and can help me?

"For a disciple who has conviction in the Teacher's message & lives to penetrate it, what accords with the Dhamma is this:
'The Blessed One is the Teacher, I am a disciple. He is the one who knows, not I." - MN. 70 Kitagiri Sutta
