Interestingly .. YouGov poll shows 66% of the British population was not interested in the wedding (page 4 last but one question)

Yes, I saw the sick bag on FB too - truly a universal platform but not noted for its elevated level of discourse.
One of our political cartoonists was rather more inventively anti-wedding:
It's a fairytale for the modern age. An age filled with flying deathbots and murderous inequality https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... inequality

I just cannot understand it. NHS is in bad shape and patients wait seven weeks to have gall stone operated viewtopic.php?f=31&t=29070 but one person due to his birth gets access to castle(s), chapel, cavalry, finances, entire state machinery for marriage [waiting seven weeks for gallstone operation is unthinkable in a third world country like India (for those with US style PPO health insurance) .. in that post I was annoyed about a 10 day wait for my sister while she was diagnosed properly]
This is caste system is it not?
No one visits London to catch a glimpse of balding and fat Prince Andrew as monarchists would have everyone believe .. tourists visit London for London Eye, British Museum and for the culture, food and sightseeing.
According to CNN William and Kate's wedding cost $32 million and Prince Charles did not pay for it inspite of being Britain's first billionaire prince

Are there no leftists or communists in Britain anymore?

So the Buck House will fall down if there is no monarchy? The President of the Republic of Britain can stay there.
Obama with Indian President at Rashtrapati Bhavan (our equivalent of the Buck House) That is the 61st Cavalry, the largest operational mounted cavalry unit in existence, escorting the US President.
New UK President will use what Royal Family uses like ours does.

Could not understand you.
It is property of the government .. not the property of one family

I did see a bit of it. The black pastor was horrible.JamesTheGiant wrote: ↑Sat May 19, 2018 12:04 pm Gah! They've said their vows like, three times already, and exchanged rings, Even George Clooney and Amal are looking a bit bored.
It's past midnight here and time for bed....
Wait, no, we're all singing God Save The Queen! I know some of the words.
And they're walking out of the chapel, wow she really looks like a fairytale princess.. diamond tiara!.. and it's time for bed really this time.

I'm no royalist but do want to give credit where it's due and this looks like a good place to do that.
I have just watched a really positive TV show about the Queen's project to encourage preservation and extension of forests in all the countries of the commonwealth. David Attenborough was the narrator and the linking background is these two very gentle famous elderly people chatting as they wander through the gardens of Buck Palace. It's very Sunday-evening-tv of course but ... nice.
I saw it on ABC-TV and you can stream it from there - https://iview.abc.net.au/programs/queen ... 520A001S00 - but it's a BBC show and you may get it more easily from there.

Re: Harry, Meghan and my Papañca
Sadguru launched a 125 million tree planting project.
I am not sure how successful it is.
I organize a tree planting project in a park 24 years ago.
We planted about 200 trees.
I am so happy to see the results now. They have grown to about 12 Meters.
My granddad said that he plant trees for his grandchildren.
