Greetings,

Don't be woke.

Awaken.

Paul. :)

I enjoy that "woke" has become the 21st century analogue to "enlightened". It's a new age, with more amusing jargon. The icing on the cake is that "Buddha" translates more literally to "The Woke One" vs "The Enlightened One".

Stay woke, ya'll.

Did you get a permission from those you decided to include their names in your list for voting?

Opening a thread is an invitation to contribute (by definition). The same does not apply in putting up names for measurement by others.

.

Erm...shouldn't "nobody" or "don't know" be included in the "most woke" list?

...and here's an article I found when I Googled "most woke"

Excerpt:

Although everyone claims they are “woke,” most people don’t know there are distinct levels of woke-osity, each having its own distinctive characteristics. In an effort to decipher the trite phrase, we decided to break down the different categories of wokeness in a handy-dandy guide so you can determine where you fall on the scale.

"How woke are you? Added to the Oxford English Dictionary this year, it’s clear that the word ‘woke’ has both meaning and history. The question, perhaps, is more what, exactly, that meaning is?

What does woke mean - what's the woke definition?
In its modern-day, politicised context, ‘woke’ is defined by the OED as ‘originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice."

We've just been pwned.

Meh. This isn't the first time the OP used a word that most of us didn't know and thought it was a misspelling.

Thus the meaning of the OP question is, “ Who is the most alert to situations where compassion is required and most politically active?”, which follows in the steps of Bikkhu Bodhi’s recent activism, noting also he lives in a Mahayana monastery. This reflects on the type of practice of the OP, who is now predictibly, as an expression of compassion, calling for Dhammapadas to be distributed in prisons.

I didn't know this was a competition! I should get started showing how wise and compassionate and awakened I am, so people will recognise me and how awesome I am, and then vote for me as The Next Buddha. That's the point, ay, for other people to think I'm great?

Yes, as I mentioned on page one, this is a silly poll to say the least. I am going to lock it so it can go down to oblivion, while there is still no clear "winner" (as if popular vote could choose who is most enlightened). And the intent of the OP was about who is most enlightened, not any other definition, as seen from his post on page one:

Any attempt to start a similar poll will be removed without notice.
