birth is suffering
Boy you must be fun at birthday parties.

:namaste:
no i don't think so
Born, become, arisen – made, prepared, short-lived
Bonded by decay and death – a nest for sickness, perishable
Produced by seeking nutriment – not fit to take delight in

Departure from this is peaceful – beyond reasoning and enduring
Unborn, unarisen – free from sorrow and stain
Ceasing of all factors of suffering – stilling of all preparations is bliss

I don't think learning comes through aging. This idea was levied at the Buddha when he was newly-awakened & still young...
Again, true, but not right.
why not
I'll PM you.

From the Venerable Bhante's teacher :)
We are born to die. Aging and death are our birthday gifts. As the Buddha taught, the cause of death is very simple... it is birth! We don't need to search for any other cause, since we are living with that cause within us. We cultivate mindfulness of death and impermanence so that we can accept that reality as it is.

Bhante Gunaratana
