Mental health in the US:
• 1 in 5 Adults have a mental health condition. That's over 40 million Americans; more than the populations of New York and Florida combined.
• Youth mental health is worsening. Rates of youth with severe depression increased from 5.9% in 2012 to 8.2% in 2015. Even with severe depression, 76% of youth are left with no or insufficient treatment

Mindfulness and depression:
"Focusing on the here and now helps individuals become aware of their negative thoughts, acknowledge them without judgment and realize they’re not accurate reflections of reality"
https://psychcentral.com/lib/how-mindfu ... epression/
But what are "accurate reflections of reality"? What someone who doesn't even know your name and who doesn't care whether you live or die calls "accurate reflections of reality"?

i bet you there is more to this,
he probably did not hate "immigrants" , if we investigate it is probably some cultural behaviors of an "out-group" is what he hated and he probably like an idiot spoke recklessly about it, generalizing and conceptualizing on account of ignorance and lack of skills. drawing horrible conclusions.
Same with gays probably, what is there to hate really. Most "homophobic" people i know they don't really care what people do in private, rather they dislike aspects of our culture, particular behaviors and views such as that they perceive to be harmful. Average person is too stupid not make these generalizations and act in self-interest, both in and the out group does this, only Arahants are completely free from this.

I have noted most of your posts are cryptic questions
And you externalize and dodge as usual.
X - I saw blue sky

Binocular - What do you mean by sky.

From now on I am not going to explain and answer your cryptic questions .. you have to ask questions where you explain what you ask, why you ask and your take on it first. Show proper respect others in the discussion.
Oh for crying out loud. Forgiveness is one or the more debated terms in religious and spiritual circles, and it can be taken to mean a variety of things.

Do you have enough compassion for Cruz that you would cease feeling any resentment against him, in case he is let off without any punishment, and therefore have no objection to him being your neighbour or coworker or bank teller.
For that, one would have to feel resentment in the first place.

And if one does feel resentment, one needs to clarify toward what or whom exactly.
Toward Cruz? For what exactly? For betraying one's faith in humanity?
Toward the justice system for acquitting him, and thus letting you down?
Toward God for creating such a shitty world in which justice just doesn't get served as you see fit?
Toward evolution, because it brings about entities and phenomena you don't like?

People often love their little 'Hitlers' so they can ignore the bigger picture that they themselves often contribute to.
18 school shootings in around 45 days in the USA. Obviously, something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

To Hell with Him.
Why is this not the obvious answer?

It's easy to forgive the perp when random strangers have been killed/wronged.

But when the victim is someone closer to you, then everything changes.

Probably why the cultivation of metta and karuna is a dedicated practice that one needs to make an effort to cultivate. If it was easy, it wouldn't require effort.

He is obviously in mental hell.

What more can you do to the guy?

Physical hell, how would that help?

I know you won’t answer me, *****. ;)

I think I can forgive Nickolas, but find it harder to forgive the system that failed him and the public.
