He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …

Wishing everyone here a peaceful and safe Christmas and holiday period.
I hope you use the opportunity to engage in the practices of dana, metta bhavana and not forgetting sense-restraint.
kind regards

Ben

I had to giggle when I saw this thread. 'Meretricious' comes from the latin word 'meretrix', meaning 'sex slave' as far as I know. It's one of those words people get confused about (but in this case maybe Tilt is employing malapropism?). Then when I saw 'seasons gratings' I became sure Tilt knew precisely what meretricious meant :) nice subtle joke there :) I wonder how many 'ordinary people on the street' would not realise that wishing them a meretricious new year was actually an insult!

But who is not a Beatle fan?
All sensible humans love the Beatles.
Therefore, if you don't love the Beatles, you are crazy.

Ok that wasn't pure logic but I'll stand by it.

No worries, friend. You are not alone. By my expert count, I've found at least 835 other sentient humans who don't like the Beatles.
Of course, they are all going straight to hell. But that is another story...

That was horrible. Awful, disgusting and totally distasteful.
What did I do to deserve it?
Please don't tell me you actually like this garbage.
What's up?
