Strong Mantra's for evil thoughts

Post by Warrior_monk1 »

Sometimes, when I feel alone there are thoughts rising from the past and I want them to exterminate them. To me, I want to become a pure soul who only does good things. Does anybody know powerful mantra's so that I can use it in my daily life or while I am meditating? Is there anyone where I can chat frequently about Buddhism? Because, it's truly has changed my life as a person and human being. :anjali:

I dont think there's anything about Dhamma practitioners using "powerful mantras" in the historical Buddha's teachings (or in Theravada). You could ask about them at the "sister" Mahayana/Vajrayana forum, where mantras seem to be popular.

The sutta MN 20 when being studied and practiced thoroughly can be an excellent "mantra" for what you need.

here is a thread about chants:
viewtopic.php?t=3832#p56419
Sabbe sattā sukhi hontu is a Pali phrase meaning “May all beings be well (or happy)”.
It’s not, properly speaking, a mantra, but is a chant that is used in exactly the same way as a mantra.
Or a modification: Sabbe sattā sukhita hontu
Here some explanation

"Does Master Gotama have any position at all?"

"A 'position,' Vaccha, is something that a Tathagata has done away with. What a Tathagata sees is this: 'Such is form, such its origination, such its disappearance; such is feeling, such its origination, such its disappearance; such is perception...such are fabrications...such is consciousness, such its origination, such its disappearance.'" - Aggi-Vacchagotta Sutta
