as impermanent, unstable, insubstantial.
Mind, let me leap into the victor’s teaching,
carry me over the great flood, so hard to pass.”

It's possible, but I think super advanced beings would probably have more interesting things to occupy their time. ;)

And whence the beings who created the matrix which we mistakenly believe to be real? I reckon its matrices all the way down. Until you get to the turtles, obviously.

The matrix creators are the mice. And you are right, the Earth and everything living on it are all a gigantic supercomputer designed to answer a question that has vexed the mice for a very, very long time.

DON'T PANIC! As long as you have your towel, everything will be just fine.

I like the comment on that article that says "Science is finally catching up with experiential Buddhist philosophy."

I don't think the topic of this article is worth dwelling on. For an article in the "Science" category, the science is very poorly sourced.

A telltale sign is that the article is posted in the Science category, but the first expert referenced is a TV show host and the second is a university philosopher.

‌The third named expert is an artificial intelligence specialist. You shouldn't trust an artificial intelligence specialist to reveal any sort of profound insights about the universe. Despite what you see in movies, anyone with a background in computer systems knows that real-world AI is actually rather dumb.

‌Finally the article manages to reference one possibly relevant expert, a physicist, who is quoted as saying that there may be signs that we are living in a computer simulation. The article concludes by saying that this physicist's experiments, if successful, would prove that "all is not as it seems with the universe". Really? I can tell you that right now, for free.

But 'instead of having brains in vats that are fed by sensory inputs from a simulator, the brains themselves would also be part of the simulation,' said Bostrom
... proving that he either did not watch the second and third movies or simply didn't understand them: this is exactly what they were about.

Thanks Lucas. Philip K Dick is one of my all-time favourite writers.
Welcome to this matrix we call the Dhamma Wheel!
