Hello. There is a monastery in Thunderbay, Ontario Canada called the Arrow River Forest Hermitage. Has anyone in this forum been there? I really like their website.
I have been there on a 30 day meditation/work retreat. I chopped wood for the upcoming winter, tried to practice meditation and listened to Dharma (Dhamma?) talks.
I really like Ajahn Punnadhammo's website: http://arrowriver.ca/ and I am have a preference... or attraction to the Thai forest tradition. I don't remember alot of my retreat. My meditation was overwhelmed and struggling, I was taking medication at the time.
I don't know any other Buddhists that live in Ontario, and I think it's good to try to have some connection in life to other meditators (am I spelling 'meditators wrong?)
And better still, someone dedicated to the same religion, school and tradition! I think a good goal for me would be to go on retreats when I become ready.
Casual discussion amongst spiritual friends.
