Re: Where are you from?
Oh I don't mind, just confused because other people said they voted 'uk' but I don't see the option <shrugs>
Re: Where are you from?
Well you could vote "New Zealand". Currently we are losing to Australia, which is never good...Mawkish1983 wrote:Oh I don't mind, just confused because other people said they voted 'uk' but I don't see the option <shrugs>

You should be used to it by now, Mike!mikenz66 wrote:Well you could vote "New Zealand". Currently we are losing to Australia, which is never good...Mawkish1983 wrote:Oh I don't mind, just confused because other people said they voted 'uk' but I don't see the option <shrugs>

Yes, I removed it so that both Australia and New Zealand can fit in due to the limited number of poll choices to 10.Mawkish1983 wrote:Was the UK option removed from the poll?

Greetings Woini,
Metta,
Retro.
I know we have a member, Sally Gross, who is South African (I assume by birth, though I'm not totally sure) but she doesn't seem to be an active member unfortunately. Unfortunate because she's very knowledgeable and I know her input has been respected by several people here in the past.woini wrote:Am I the only African here ?

Ben
I'm so glad you appreciate my wicked sense of humour! Speaking of all things English, my daughter arrived in London a few days ago amidst the heatwave.Mawkish1983 wrote:You know I love you BenBen wrote:Those bloody whinging poms need to know their place in this world!

Re: Where are you from?
I hear it reached 35 in London, which I suppose is not that high compared to Australia in the height of summer, but we as a country not equiped to deal with it. It was very dangerous. Was your daughter okay?Ben wrote:my daughter arrived in London a few days ago amidst the heatwave.
Re: Where are you from?
Hi Mawk
Freya is fine. She sent me an sms when she arrived and I imagine she's enjoying catching up with friends and seeing the sights before heading off to Barcelona next week. She's a very capable young woman. The year before last she spent part of her gap year working for an NGO in Banda Aceh province in Indonesia, teaching school kids in Bahasi Indonesian personal hygiene. No doubt, in time I'll be a recipient of a group-email-as-postcard telling me of her travels. But right now, she's probably too busy having a good time.
Yes, as you know we've heard about the heatwave in the UK and yes, the message I've been hearing is that you're not set up to deal with extreme temperatures.
Summer days where I used to live in central Victoria regularly climbed above 40 deg C. I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of hot weather.
Cheers
Ben

Maryland... United States. But I'm a dual citizen of the USA and the UK, because I was born in America and my mother is American, but my father is British and had me registered there.Stefan wrote:Select the region or country where you originally come from.

Greetings Individual,
That's handy... especially nowadays how that access extends to the EU.
