The Magical Movie : South Pacific

Postby yawares » Mon Aug 27, 2012 1:01 pm

Dear Members,

When I was very young my mom took me to see SOUTH PACIFIC at Chalerm-Thai Theatre. I remembered so many people in line to buy tickets..the theatre was jammed pack!!

South Pacific :

South Pacific : Can a girl from Little Rock find happiness with a mature French planter she got to know one enchanted evening  away from the military hospital where she is a nurse? Or should she just wash that man out of her hair?

Enchanted Evening :

Wash That Man : ... re=related

I'M In Love : ... re=related

: ... re=related

Bloody Mary is the philosopher of the island and it's hard to believe she could be the mother of Liat who has captured the heart  of Lt. Joseph Cable USMC. While waiting for action in the war in the South Pacific.

Younger Than Springtime ... sults_main

Happy Talk : ... re=related

Sailors and nurses put on a musical comedy show. The war gets closer and the saga of Nellie Forbush and Emile de Becque becomes serious drama.

Honey Bun : ... re=related

There Is Nothin' Like a Dame : ... re=related

Dites Moi : ... re=related

I watched SOUTH PACIFIC again with Tep when I was 16. Chalerm-Thai theatre had a special classic movie show for 1 week only. This movie is truly classic/magical !! All the songs are so heavenly beautiful!!

 Please watch SOUTH PACIFIC..You'll love it!!

Yes, the music is great.
There is a big new live production of teh show here in Australia now - - and some of the reviews are commenting on the racial tensions in the plot. They were apparently obvious in the original stage show but played down for the movie and have been brought into the foreground again for this production - things like the American soldiers being racially segregated on stage as they were in the army at the time.
So there's something serious to think about as well as romance and good music to enjoy
