Two rather lovely pieces by the great Seán Ó Riada:

>> Do you see a man wise [enlightened/ariya] in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.<< -- Proverbs 26:12

This being is bound to samsara, kamma is his means for going beyond. -- SN I, 38.

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” HPatDH p.723

Higher than lordship over all earth,
Higher than sojourning in heavens supreme,
Higher than empire over all the worlds,
Is Fruit of Entrance to the Dhamma Stream.

Aflame with the fire of passion, the fire of aversion, the fire of delusion.
Aflame, with birth, aging & death, with sorrows, lamentations, pains, distresses, & despairs ......

Seeing thus, the disciple of the Noble One grows disenchanted. SN 35.28

Hey kitztack, what sutta is your signature from? That's a great line.
“Life is swept along, short is the life span; no shelters exist for one who has reached old age. Seeing clearly this danger in death, a seeker of peace should drop the world’s bait.” SN 1.3

I just found out today that my nephew has to take a short trip for his job. This 80's song has been going through my mind ever since I heard he would be stopping in this city for a few days. The words "...not much between despair and ecstasy" always rang true to me. I hope no one finds offense in the song. If you do, the moderators can delete it.

I was just looking and posting to another thread about songs consistent with the Dharma. I don't think this would totally fit the description, but it did speak to me at the time. I can remember laying or is that lying (I can never remember) on the floor with my head between two smallish speakers loving this song. You see, this may have been the first or at least one of the first, to have parts of the music pass from one speaker over to the other. It was especially effective on the instrumental part. I was in my teens, but the words "Good things must end. They never last," stood out as important. Uh oh, I am feeling right nostalgic! lol At the end of one side of the vinyl album one side said "turn me over" and the other side said "play me again".

Just listened to this with headphones. Still flows from one ear to the other! How neat! Showing my age, again

Thanks for that. Malcolm Middleton is new to me, and I've spent a wee while today exploring "Scottish miserablism"

Not actually listening to this song now, but a recent thread subject has repeatedly reminded me of this song:
