It's a lovely day here (No, it isn't raining), but still this song came to mind. I might have posted it before. Love the old Fred Astaire Ginger Rogers movies. This song is from Top Hat, one of my favorite movies of all time. I know. I know, hopeless romantic, I just love these old songs.

Another Fred and Ginger. Actually, was reading here that this song by Irving Berlin (previous post was an Irving Berlin song, too) lost at the Academy Awards to a song by Jerome Kern from another Fred and Ginger movie. So, I will post both and you can decide
which song should have won," Let's Face the Music and Dance" (Berlin) or "The Way You Look Tonight" (Kern)

  • "And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting oneself one protects others? By the pursuit, development, and cultivation of the four establishments of mindfulness. It is in such a way that by protecting oneself one protects others.

"And how is it, bhikkhus, that by protecting others one protects oneself? By patience, harmlessness, goodwill, and sympathy. It is in such a way that by protecting others one protects oneself.

It captures a certain gestalt, these days...

Thanks Dave! I actually feel a little better than I did a few hours ago. Dealing with chronic and eventually fatal diseases can be overwhelming at times. When I feel pretty good, most people would be surprised at how bad I can feel the very next day.
