Who's online?

Post by Fede »

Is there any way of telling (other than by going to the bottom of the page to check) by looking at a person's posts, who is on line at any one point?
Some other fora have little "light" icons....

Just a question. :)

When I made the forum show people's avatars and user information on the left side, it ended up messing up the ONLINE icon. I took it out altogether. Then you asked for it, so I realized there was demand for it. Today I figured out how to put it back, this time making the ONLINE button going vertical on the side of the avatar (and not covering it).

Let me know if it covers anyone else's avatars or any problems of that sort.

It works.
I have the 'online' icon, and i can see it on the psots of others, alongside the avatar.
However (and given previous problkems, I accept that this could just be my PC) I am also seing on it, 'superimposed' as it were, a clear rectangle, with a red cross in it.

Can anyone else see it?

It was an error in the code because when I was trying to fix the ONLINE image, I put another one on top of where it is forgetting to remove that code. It turned out to be a glitch with Internet Explorer. In Mozilla Firefox, it worked fine because the browswer removed the broken image. Mozilla Firefox is a better system.

But I fixed it, and now in both browswers, Firefox and Internet Explorer, it works without that extra box you see (broken image logo). Get Mozilla Firefox if you can. It's a better system. http://www.getfirefox.com

Looks fine here, just a vertical, orange ONLINE. If avatars could be centered in the box, maybe there would be room for a horizontal ONLINE. But, hey, a simple colored dot would do fine also and it could be anywhere in the box.
