Okay, so this isn't really a suggestion per se. But sorta just a question for admins. Why is there a beer emoji on this forum?
Albeit minor, i just feel like its weird for a buddhist forum to have since it sorta promotes breaking a precept.
Just curious on this.

Re: Beer emoji
This issue has been raised before. The emoji pre-dates me, but I guess it was just offered as a symbol for "mutual celebration" or something like that. Of course, one can think of it as non-alcoholic beer or a soft drink!

True. Toasts are a pretty universal thing, I sometimes do them with things like sparkling cider or soft drinks for fun. I think to most people it does look like beer. but I can just change it in my head i suppose, who cares what everyone else sees it as lol.

Re: Beer emoji
Does 'non-alcoholic' beer not have a little bit of alcohol in it still?
It's not just a go-lucky gesture, as it is quite reminiscent of imbibing in our culture; even emulating social drinking with non-alcoholic beverages can be dirty stuff.

Re: Beer emoji
Greetings,
As has been said before by David, it can be non-alcoholic root beer if you like.
As Sam has said, this issue has been raised before... so this topic will be closed.
Thanks.
Metta,
Paul.
