new emoticons

Post by perkele » Sun Apr 08, 2018 9:53 pm

I have fiddled a bit with the emoticons and created some new ones from old ones. I think they could be a useful addition for the possibilities of not-so-verbal communication here, to be possibly included into the collection of existing emoticons.
As long as they are not included with bbcodes one could simply enter the [ img ]-codes below for now, since they are stored here as attachments.

1. To reduce potential for provoking conflict or insult and showing less aggression while still pointing out with a sign that something is off-topic - a less angry, little bit more neutral but still stern and earnest looking off-topic sign:

Suggestion for bbcode:

Code: Select all

:geek-offtopic:
or simply as a replacement for the usual

Code: Select all

:offtopic:

2. Or to take a more equanimous approach, signalling that one is really not so much interested in arguing (but could also be seen as disinterested and dismissive):

(I think I messed up the palette there, now looking a bit pale and monochrome. But I think that is not really bad.)

Code: Select all

Suggestion for bbcode:

Code: Select all

:equanimous-offtopic:
or simply as a replacement for the usual

Code: Select all

:offtopic:

3. And finally, I think this is a good addition, the wise sage raising a finger and pointing out that something is not an argument, without danger to be associated with someone who might be viewed to be a racist, bigot or other kind of bad guy.
