The search function has been a little funny for me lately, and generally doesn't work (once in a while it does)
I cleared my cache/history, but that didn't fix it. Any other thoughts?

I've never found the built-in function to be useful. I do a Google search like:

Yeah that's usually better! Good point. But it did used to work on forum, now it just times out, its weird.

Personally, I think the built-in search function of this particular software is not very good, even when it is working. It's working for me, but slowly.
I find it much faster and more useful to do a google search along the lines of:
