Indeed. And beer traditionally has an association with monasticism.

'O.monks there are two kinds.of.perception,....to be avandoned.and to be cultivated,' my initial 'perception' was whoa emoji overload..I.e papanca sanna, is a tricky one, in terms.of smadhai.and.dhamma.in general, the less on offer the better for ones.citta

another thought..., since its.a buddhist forum...I think its logical that it reflects.buddhist.ideals, culture and iconogrphy, so the emojis I.think should.reflect the buddha and his dispensation as much as possible and minimalise.the ever encoraching 'loka' or world, but increasing the number of.buddhist emojis and deletong the 'loka dhamma' .ones, as a monastic this issue never.goes.away, how far do.you go.with the nippapanca, dhamma'dipateyya, anudhamma, apporach, sorry if the pali words.ade.alien my typing.is difficult...the answer.is

Though these icons are mostly harmless, they don't send the right message either. Ideally they would be gone and be replaced with more appropriate ones, like a high-five or handshake icon or something similar instead of beer-clinking, but if this represents too much effort, then the status quo may be acceptable.

This all strikes me like the kind of moral absolutism I used to adhere to when I was 16.

I hope everyone here realizes this is exactly the type of rationale used in Saudi Arabia to keep women covered and prevent them from driving cars.

I agree.
Born, become, arisen – made, prepared, short-lived
Bonded by decay and death – a nest for sickness, perishable
Produced by seeking nutriment – not fit to take delight in

Departure from this is peaceful – beyond reasoning and enduring
Unborn, unarisen – free from sorrow and stain
Ceasing of all factors of suffering – stilling of all preparations is bliss
