Hi, I'm Dave. I'll make this short: I'm relatively new to Buddhism, but have been practicing mindfulness meditation off and on for several years. I live on the East Coast of the USA, in an area where there are no Buddhist temples or other informal Buddhist groups. I'm looking for general guidance, pointers to good books for beginners, etc. Also, making some new friends wouldn't hurt either.
I've read most of The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama, and excerpts from a few Thich Nhat Hanh books as well. Currently, I'm reading The Buddhist Handbook by John Snelling.
Thanks for taking the time to read my intro!
