Mikael from Scotland

Post by mikkha73 » Wed Aug 01, 2018 1:16 pm

Hi all.

I'm Mikael, 45 years old from Scotland and have been interested in Buddhism for about a year.

I'm desperately seeking a teacher as there is nothing near me and travelling is unfortunately not an option.

Anyway, enough rambling. Looking forward to getting involved.

Welcome to Dhamma Wheel.

(Pro tip: As you search for a teacher, immerse yourself in the Suttas of the Buddha. Then if/when a teacher comes, you'll be better equipped to know whether what they teaches is truly reflective of the Dhamma of the Buddha. If you have any questions about what you read, feel free to ask here and people will do their best to share their perspectives).

To study is to know the texts,
To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

- Ajahn Lee Dhammadharo

With no struggling, no thinking,
the mind, still,
will see cause and effect
vanishing in the Void.
Attached to nothing, letting go:
Know that this is the way
to allay all stress.

- Upasika Kee Nanayan
