Hello

Post by mario_vienna » Mon Feb 05, 2018 10:50 am

Hi all!
My first contact with Buddhism was 12 years ago. I started with diamondway buddhism, changed to zen and ended up with reading the Pali canon (I have never taken the refuge). Unfortunately, I was living at that time in a German town where there was no possibility to practice. So my ambitions faded away until last year. And again I started with one of the diamondway guided meditations for about one year. But than zen meditation became more interesting for me again, since I wanted to focus on breathing and not on mantras. Three weeks ago, I discovered vipassana meditation, I think it is the form of meditation that fits the best for me.
I am not a fan of zen teachers, and I hope that in Theravada (Vipassana) I am not that depending on teachers and can concentrate on meditation and reading the Pali canon. However, this online Sangha looks perfect to me to exchange with others from all over the world online.

Welcome!

:namaste:
To study is to know the texts,
To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

- Ajahn Lee Dhammadharo

With no struggling, no thinking,
the mind, still,
will see cause and effect
vanishing in the Void.
Attached to nothing, letting go:
Know that this is the way
to allay all stress.
