Hello

Post by Patrice » Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:25 pm

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I have been meditating for a little over two years and I am working more and more at including my practice into my daily life. Its hard to find teachers and people to talk too up here in the canadian arctic so I'm hopping joining this forum will help me answer questions and to figure things out.

Im looking forward to talk with you

Regards,

Pat

Welcome Pat!

:namaste:
To study is to know the texts,
To practice is to know your defilements,
To attain the goal is to know and let go.

- Ajahn Lee Dhammadharo

With no struggling, no thinking,
the mind, still,
will see cause and effect
vanishing in the Void.
Attached to nothing, letting go:
Know that this is the way
to allay all stress.

Welcome, Pat. :hello:
Your reason for joining - isolation - is pretty common, actually, and DW does make a kind of substitute community. Most of us are in majority-Christian countries and some of us, like me, are in provincial centres in those countries.
You and I could be in contention for fewest Buddhists within a thousand miles of us, though, given that I live on the edge of the Outback.

I know nothing of the Outback but from the pictures I just saw on Google, it looks just like the arctic up here, but with a LOT more heat
