Hello from Brazil

Post by Breathaholic »

Hi. I'm a Theravadin for roughly one and a half year. I live in a small city on the southeast of Brazil. English is not my first language, so I apologize myself for any mistakes.

Buddhism is not very big in Brazil and Theravada is even smaller than other traditions. But right now we are building our first Theravadin monastery in Soledad de Minas/MG.

It's going to be another branch of Ajaan Chah's Forest Sangha. The head monk right now is Ajaan Mudito, a student of Luang Por Piak. I hope the monastery helps to preserve the Dhamma here in South America.

I have a special interest in Ven. Thanissaro Bhikkhu's teachings and recently I spent two weeks at Wat Metta. It's a long trip from Brazil.

That's all I have to say that might be of interest.

May you all be happy and well.

Welcome!

:namaste:
Liberation is the inevitable fruit of the path and is bound to blossom forth when there is steady and persistent practice. The only requirements for reaching the final goal are two: to start and to continue. If these requirements are met there is no doubt the goal will be attained. This is the Dhamma, the undeviating law.
