Take a look at Sutta Central. There you will find the texts in the original languages and translated into several languages, all for free. Even my translations into Norwegian can be found there. They are also freely available at my own site, http://dhamma.priv.no

OK. We agree then. There is no early source giving the name Siddhattha/Siddhartha.

I am not able to find the name Siddhattha in the Mahapadanasutta or other texts from the Tipitaka. Please give a more detailed reference.

Gotama is very frequent in the Suttas. Siddhartha/Siddhattha occurs only in the commentaries. Siddhattha can be translated as "the one who has reached the goal". It might of course be given to a baby in the hope that it should be auspicious, but it really fits the Buddha too well - so it i...
