Trump was supposed to enact sanctions. He did not do it. This is a fact.
Right, or not right?
Maybe have a look at the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act and tell me what Trump didn't do that he was "supposed to".

And the Congress voted to make sure the sanctions against Russia should be approved. This is also a fact.
And the Act was approved, as per Imperator Rex's tweet thread.

Greetings Alan, He was supposed to put on sanctions against Russia--but decided not to do that. Why? I could respond to that, but instead I'll direct you to someone who has already done that... https://twitter.com/PUNCHDUMP/status/959589688896995329 https://twitter.com/Imperator_Rex3/status/96031492...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings Alan, If I'm not guilty, I do not fire the person investigating me. Who, Comey? The man who is neck deep in the wrongdoings identified, and who made a complete balls-up of the Hillary Clinton e-mail server issue? (...which in time I suspect you'll find is closely intertwined with the malfe...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings Alan, If Trump is not guilty, why is he acting guilty? I don't perceive he is "acting guilty". I do think certain media outlets aligned with the #Resistance will try to construe his actions as such, and then use their constructions and conveniently anonymous (non-existent?) sources to insi...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings, ...for those who are paying attention to what is happening. As one of "those who are paying attention to what is happening", I can say that my perception is radically different from Lyndon Taylor's. However, I typically choose not to share my perception here, as that would be tantamount t...

Re: history sub-forum

Greetings, We generally only create new sections, when the current setup does not enable certain topics to be addressed adequately. I see no reason for this to be done in relation to Buddhist History, nor have we ever seen enough interest in the subject to devote an entire subforum to it. If you wis...

Re: There is no capitalist countries but capitalist individuals?

Greetings Sarath, There is no good alternative to capitalism except to improve upon it. More specifically, I think it's about preventing capitalism from becoming what DooDoot calls "crony capitalism". "Crony capitalism" strangles the natural working of market capitalism and only becomes possible whe...

Re: What is the alternative to the capitalism?

Greetings Chownah, I may be wrong but it seems to me that then someone how buys a hammer and makes a livelihood from using it is a capitalist (if she also supports the idea of individuals making their livelihood similarly) and is involved in a capitalist enterprise. Is that right? Convoluted sentenc...

Re: There is no capitalist countries but capitalist individuals?

Greetings Mike, The percentage of GDP that is filtered though taxes is interesting measure. This is around 50% in Scandinavia, 35% in New Zealand, 28% in Romania, 25% in the USA, 20% in China and Russia, 17% in Thailand, 13% in Hong Kong, 1.4% in UAE... Agreed, that's the other critical axis - the P...

Re: There is no capitalist countries but capitalist individuals?

Greetings Sarath, If you mean Capitalist as in a person who believes in and advocates for Capitalism, then I guess that's true. However, economies are indeed capitalist or socialist based on to what extent that which is produced (i.e. Gross Domestic Product) is created with private or public capital...

Re: Arguing about Mahasi Sayadaw and Goenka Meditation

Greetings Sarath, If you happen to find anything written and translated into English from the bhikkhu, I would be interested in reading that. Unfortunately, the sound on the video is not well mastered, and I suspect much is lost in translation. If there is indeed a nugget of gold in there, it should...

Re: What is the alternative to the capitalism?

Greetings Sarath, Then why socialist restrict the practice of religion? Many answers could be given. I think the most is direct answer is that they want their ideology to take the place of religion, and in fact, need it to be held in such esteem in order for society to be compliant with its impost a...

Re: What is the alternative to the capitalism?

Greetings, Slavery, particularly sex trafficing, is extremely profitable. In the link I gave above https://dhammawheel.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=31097&start=20#p455139 Siddharth Kara estimates that sex slavery gives an 800% return on investment. It's the ideal Capitalism... :? The ideal capitalism is...
