Re: Q & A on my approach to kasina meditation

Re: Dhamma that triggers SJWs

And yes, there is anti-feminism in the Dhamma, for example the suttas Anuruddha sutta and Uggaha Sutta: (1) “So then, girls, you should train yourselves thus: ‘To whichever husband our parents give us—doing so out of a desire for our good, seeking our welfare, taking compassion on us, acting out of...

Re: Anapanasati Experimentation

All this talk of nimittas reminded me of my first experiences of meditation, and inspired me to make a kasina again. Now I am reminded of how effective they are. Thanks budo! Ill report on my experiences in a day or two

Re: Anapanasati Experimentation

So I meditated again focusing on first person circular radius, breath in nose, and between eye brows, and passadhi (tranquility) set in very quickly. Visual nimitta arose very quickly but was not stable. Unfortunately my cellphone rang and snapped me out of it after 45 minutes. So I'm going to try ...

Re: Anapanasati Experimentation

So I tried focusing between the eyebrows and my breath , and I noticed that passaddhi (tranquility) set in much faster, and I will continue to experiment with and report back and I remember doing this several years ago and getting interesting results. Try it out! Could you expand a little on what y...

Re: Do women have more "dhammic" underlying motives for being horny than men?

Whatever it means it shows that women can be interested in sex only. No at all. It means seeking sex as a means to a certain end. Please try to not fool or beguile men; many of whom are struggling with relationships and even pornography. When I worked retreats at Ven Buddhadasa's monastery, I had t...

Re: Do women have more "dhammic" underlying motives for being horny than men?

What extraordinarily personal questions to be asking a woman/women on a public forum which has almost an all male membership! Are you seriously expecting any women looking in to answer you? Well, the alternative is letting the almost all male membership' come to their own conclusions, without the b...

Re: Gender Equality Poll

We are all identical clones in every respect, remember. Is there backing Suttas for this argument? I was being sarcastic - of course we are not identical clones in every respect. In order to answer this question, we have to know (or specify) on which dimension one sex is superior to the other. Sutt...

Re: Moral Relativism & Moral Absolutism: Is There a Universal Right and Wrong?

Greetings, Do you see yourself (or the Buddha's teachings) as morally relativistic, morally absolutist, or something else? Do you try to avoid criticizing particular ideas or actions even if you don't personally condone them? Or do you feel that it’s necessary to criticize particular ideas or actio...
