Re: Lack of progress

I found the following talk very useful for re-calibrating my perspective about what is possible as a layperson at present.

Re: Lack of progress

Not to bring the conversation to such a crude level, but this monk is known almost exclusively because he talks about things that, according to the Buddha, are inappropriate for a monk to talk about. It's not surprising that he struggles with meditation. Those two are almost certainly related. :goo...

Re: Uposatha drinks

Hi Dorian,

According to Bhante Suddhaso almond and coconut milk are allowable. As always, it is probably better to forego them if possible (it's only a day after all). Mettacittena!

Re: In rememberance of Bhikkhu Samahita

Have to share this. Because it’s a great lesson personally. I was working since yesterday on extracting Venerable Bhikkhu Samahitas entire website. All was going well about 8500 files out of 16400 files downloads. Then his website domain happened to expire an hour ago. Of all times. This is the Ven...

It is great if they secure the place. It is only one hour from NC by public transport.
It is interesting to see monks meditating with the cross and mother Mery in the back ground!
Please keep uninformed the progress of the fund raising.
Will do!

Re: Dana - suggested places to make donations

I have been there and have been involved (albeit in a limited capacity) side the beginning. The bhikkhu and bhikkhuni who are the leading teachers are amazing and they bring in monastics from all over.

Re: Dana - suggested places to make donations

Hi everyone, This great organization in the NYC area is looking for a permanent home. They need funds to buy an old monastery to serve as a vihara. Anything you can give would help! https://www.facebook.com/donate/392724534783241/10157106015450907/?fundraiser_source=feed&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARC833...

Anumodana for this post and all those like it. Even if everyone had less than pure motives I'd rather see this than the endless debates. :anjali:

Happy New Moon Uposatha (May 4th 2019)!
Rain soddens what's covered
& doesn't sodden what's open.
So open up what's covered up,
so that it won't get soddened by the rain.[2]
