Re: One "Point" which includes vs. excludes

Dear Friends in Dhamma, Thank you SarathW. Your contribution has been noted. But, to repeat: In listening to Ajahn Nanamoli Thero, he sometimes talks about ekagatta as one point which includes everything, as opposed to one point which excludes everything. Where might one find other resources/languag...

One "Point" which includes vs. excludes

Dear Friends in Dhamma, In listening to Ajahn Nanamoli Thero, he sometimes talks about ekagatta as one point which includes everything, as opposed to one point which excludes everything. Where might one find other resources/language regarding this strategy? Metta and peace, Bowing and thanks, Upasak...

Attha/Meaning/Goal/Purpose

Dear Friends in Dhamma,

Has anyone explored or written about "Attha" in terms of Meaning (perhaps in the Western sense) or in depth at all?

Re: Looking for a Brahmali/Sujato talk

Dear all,

DooDoot, thank you for your suggestion. I have posted there!

Confused Layman: might we ask you to elaborate?

I think the talk i was looking for was "How To Stop Meditating," but it lacks some of the language I remember.

Looking for a Brahmali/Sujato talk

Dear Friends in Dhamma, I'm looking for a Dhamma talk by either Ajahn Sujato or Ajahn Brahmali that I listened to partially between one and three years ago. All I remember is some language around the various objects of samatha being a way of tricking the mind into jhana. Does this ring bells for any...

Re: An Artistic Project

Dear all,

Thank you, MettaDevPrac!

I was really hoping people would be inspired by this idea, and make their own to share. I would've thought people had some extra time on their hands. 😋

Please find attached a new attempt by me...

An Artistic Project

Dear Friends in Dhamma, I have project for anyone of an artistic bent, or who has some time on their hands... It occurred to me, in light of passages in MN 28 and SN 22:87, that it might be interesting to simply type out the formula of Dependent Origination in the shape or silhouette of the Buddha. ...

Re: An old photo

Dear DNS,

thank you for this. I've seen this before, and it is indeed a neat picture, but not the one I was looking for. But, do we know or have info about the origin or composition of this image?

An old photo

Dear friends in Dhamma, Many years ago somebody posted a pic on Dhammalist, I remember the title as something like: a photo of the real Buddha. I remember the photo as being black and white, dimly lit, showing a white Buddha statue in the meditation posture, possibly during snowfall. It was in the l...
