The quality of practice, what you exactly do with your mind success = quantity * quality Well, at least you can measure the quantity. I agree that time is measurable....I think that th...

Re: Inbreath automatically outbreath

We didn't understood eachother. My main language isn't english. I mean't, when i exhale, i will come to a point where i seemingly automatically inhale, but when i reverse this phenomena with inhale=exhale it doesn't happen. Maybe i need to wait longer to fill my lungs or do you think i'm tensed? I ...

Re: Lineage of monks

Re: Inbreath automatically outbreath

Breathing is a special activity in that it can run in automatic mode or the automatic mode can be easily over-ruled by out intentions. I think that this is one of the reasons why breath mediatation is such a good tool for learning about intention. I think you will agree that when you are sleeping or...

Re: More teaching nuns are needed

Cilla, It seems that you have stayed off topic.....the topic here is about the attractiveness of teachers I guess....or at least something to do with teachers and their gender and how this impacts students I guess......you are not even mentioning teachers at all now..... You talk about going to the ...

Re: Should the world exist?

Would it be preferrable to have an eternal state of nothingness, a permanent ceasing of thing-ness: no world, no body, no self, no pleasure, no love, no joy, no insight, no knowledge, no family, no friends, no music, no literature, no seeing, no hearing, no thinking, no greed, no hatred, no delusio...

Please give me the meaning of this without the explanation of the ancient Commentary. After killing his mother, father, and two kṣatriya kings, And destroying a country, along with its treasurer, Ungrieving goes the brāhmaṇa. It can mean anything for a bad a$$ dude who is unrepentent all the way to...

Re: Nibbana in Bahiya Sutta

I think that this: "Where neither water nor yet earth Nor fire nor air gain a foothold, There gleam no stars, no sun sheds light, There shines no moon, yet there no darkness reigns. When a sage, a brahman, has come to know this For himself through his own wisdom, Then he is freed from form and ...
