i always took interbeing as an understanding of emptiness not dependant origination. did i miss something?

oh and to add, i think if you want to note long or short, this is fine. some people just do "in and out" or count etc, these are sorta "baby steps" to get you to focus more clearly, one pointedly until you don't need noting anymore. but my question still remains , and the reason ...

The two most influential (recent) masters of Theravada buddhism are Ajahn Chah and Mahasi Sayadaw. there are reasons to assume the Buddha didn't want us to eat meat. however there were more reasons for him to not make it a rule.

Again, if someone knows nothing about the 4 noble truths or 8 fold path, would giving them the nikayas really be the best solution? Lol.
where better to learn those things than from the Buddha himself?
