Month 3

Second month of daily meditation is over. Mostly successful, I skipped some days because mind was too wild and frantic. Also, the quality of meditation was very poor on most days, I need to make bigger effort to focus on breath / one point. Still, I have more self-confidence now that I can do daily ...

Re: Goenka died today

I have become an orphan. Some years ago I had an opportunity to attend a public gathering where Goenkaji would address the assembled. Sadly I was in that low phase of avoiding Vipassana and meditation altogether (because I was not getting results to my unreasonable expectations) and chose not attend...

Month 2

After a mostly succesful first month -just skipped three sittings- I begin second month of daily meditation. Internet issues continue to plague me, so some entries might be logged at later dates. This month I resolve to sit for at least 25 minutes (thanks Ajisai) every morning and evening. An increa...

Re: Will you be my Sangha?

Greetings weakfocus Welcome to Dhamma Wheel. I have been a student of SN Goenka since 1985. I have vivid memories of attempting to do the practice during a ten-day course for the first time then practicing at home - it is hard. It is also hard to get established with a regular meditation schedule a...

My Daily Log

After Ben's guidance , I will use this thread to document my efforts. I will not be able to take part in Insight Timer since I do not have an Android or Apple smartgadget. This forum will do for me, however. Day 1: Just did my morning 20 minute sitting. Just did my evening 20 minute sitting. Day2: D...

Re: Will you be my Sangha?

Thank you everyone for the kind welcome. I have started a daily meditation logging thread , hopefully other meditators will find it useful too. During routine tasks, such as walking to work, cleaning the house, washing dishes, taking a bath, etc. be continuously mindful of the activity you're doing....

The Daily Meditation Log [Post after every sitting]

Hello sangha After my introduction , I am starting a thread for logging daily meditation efforts. Will you be my Sangha?

Hello I attended my first Vipassana meditation course (as taught by Mr. S. N. Goenka) over a decade ago on recommendation of an acquaintance. It had a strong impact on me even though I could not focus my mind enough to feel finer sensations and do any Vipassana. After the first course I attended fou...
