Re: Taking members seriously

No rant was intended.

I'm glad other people have had a much more positive experience here. Best wishes.

I have done that.

I've tried to respond to you respectfully. I don't mind exerting energy to make that effort. Best wishes.

Re: Taking members seriously

I was concerned that this would happen. Tilt, your post is off topic. One thing to clarify: The issue wasn't that I was unhappy with how the complaint was adjudicated. The issue is that after I made the complaint (in which I also cited examples of how others were treated, not just myself), things ju...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

The praise is rendered meaningless by the ongoing negativity of what you are saying. Can you be more specific about this ongoing negativity? Also, you really did not respond to mindyourmind; you, again, offered another justification for what you are doing. There is no dialogue in that. I felt that ...

Re: Taking members seriously

Well this hasn't worked out very well so far. To those who have criticized me for creating this suggestion, please be aware that DW invited me to do so. To those who say it is bad form, I disagree. If a member has a legitimate concern, from their perspective, about something occuring that appears to...

Taking members seriously

I would suggest that members of the mod/admin team refrain from characterizing member posts as possibly just "jokes." From time to time, I have seen it happen that members who were trying to make a valid point from their perspective are told in-thread that it appeared they might just be joking. Here...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

But you take no real responsibility for the negative spinning of Dhamma Wheel that is evident in that very blog entry and the sharply negative comments and negative spinning that characterizes so much of what you have said about Dhamma Wheel, undercutting all the nice things you said, which, then, ...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

Thanks, Christopher. I think "dropping it" is advice that could equally apply to others as well as to myself. The process of "dropping it" happens in this moment, and it's difficult to know whether another person has "dropped it" or not. I think we all need to keep on practicing "dropping it" until ...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

I truly believe that if I had created suggestion-box entries with my concerns, they would have been made invisible, and I would have received warnings from the mods not to do that again. Folks reading this thread have no idea what went on behind the scenes. Some of the responses I received from the ...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

I agree with you, Christopher. Good point. Nevertheless, for clarity, I would like to respond to Retro. Retro: The Suggestion Box idea is not what you told me way back at the beginning of the difficulties I began experiencing at Dhamma Wheel. At that time, you did not invite me to put my concerns in...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

May I ask, briefly... what makes you think that these things you speak of cannot already be done freely by members via the Suggestion Box? Because members of the mod/admin team have directly told me that members are not allowed to post any comment about specific moderator decisions or moderator-rel...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

I'd like to clarify that the blog was never intended to make any misrepresentations, and if it contains any, I hope I have addressed them. If not, I will do so upon specific request. (Tilt, I've changed the wording in the "mindful masturbation" reference. You have persuaded me that I misunderstood w...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

I should have made this much more clear earlier in the thread: Tilt, please know that I do very much appreciate and accept your apology. I regard your apology as a generous gift. I don't believe I've ever directly asked for an apology. At those times when I've felt that you "owed" me an apology, I h...

Re: Open invitation: Help us improve your DW experience!

. . . For all of what you have just written, I have a serious problem with it. Proclaiming that you are writing a blog in the spirit of friendship and the like does not really mitigate any of the ongoing criticism of me that pushes, in my opinion, towards character assassination in how you have spu...
