Re: Sunlun Sayadaw method

I am not sure why you seem to think it goes quite far from Buddhism. If it is a practice which helps arouse sati and viriya, why would it be so? Coëmgenu wrote:Buddha is often referred to as things like "the ascetic Gotama" and various epithets (Bhagavan, etc), but does the name "Siddhartha Gautama", or a Pali equivalent thereof, appear anywhere in the Pali literature?

"the nature of phenomena" If by that you mean dhammas/dharmas, then question becomes what do mean by dhammas/dharmas. Dhammas/dharmas I suspect is a term used to refer to one experience, particularly unstood in terms of a meditative mind. If the senses and their objects are 'the All' ( SN 35.23 ), ...

Re: Is Paṭicca-samuppāda a Theory of Everything?

What do you guys think? Is Paṭicca-samuppāda a Theory of Everything? Or, an even broader question, is the Dhamma supposed to explain "everything" as some seem to hold or is it more a limited epistemological theory which remains about the field of one's experience. I suspect that this was in relatio...

Re: Are there any other schools of Buddhism, besides Theravada, that are not non-dual?

I guess the appeal of an all embracing ontological worldview has always been strong, as we can see in the Upanishads. It is a warm fuzzy point of view: It is all One, we are all One, and all sorts of warm fuzzy platitude that can follow from that. Also: "You are a dualist, always in opposition, nev...
