Re: A Down-to-Earth Refutation of Spiritual Universalism???

Dear Path,

Just mention this verse from Buddha, with a sympathetic tone:

Re: New translations from Kalavinka

For those who do not read Chinese, nor Sanskrit, (nor wish to learn) the two fat volumes of Nagarjuna's Treatise on the Ten Bodhisattva Grounds can be ignored. There is also a one volume English only version. With a very comprehensive outline of contents, Glossary & Notes over 700 pages, and radian...

Re: New translations from Kalavinka

The new translations are now up at Amazon. Search for Kalavinka Press to see the new Chinese-Skt-English versions of several titles. Also the new Ten Grounds Sutra versions, one by Kumarajiva & one by Shiksananda. Both of these also have PL Vaidya's Sanskrit in appendices. The smaller Buddha mindful...

Ajahn Sumedho @ 10000 Buddhas

Mahayana Master Hsuan Hua admired Ajahn Sumedho, so after Master Hua's death when the Ajahn was visiting the West around his 80th birthday he gave a talk at City of 10,000 Buddhas in California. Dharma Master Heng Sure gives a little intro to his talk:

Good news! Thank you.

I see one chapter of the Avatamsaka Sutra is listed. I thought there were plans for a publication of a complete translation by Kalavinka Press and BDK. Any word on what happened to that?
It is happening - just v e r y slowly...

Thank you for sharing, Will.
Perhaps most interest for this site will fall on the Mindfulness of the Buddha text by Nagarjuna.

New translations from Kalavinka

All are Mahayana, but there may be connections found by those who study & ponder. See just the two posts with pictures of the books.

Re: Dhammapada/Udanavarga

Ran across this while reading BDK's Buddha-Dharma . That famous verse of Buddha's is in both Dhammapada & Udanavarga , but I did not know that there was a Dhamma passage saying that the Seven Buddhas before had taught it: “Disciples, I made Sariputta and Moggallana elder disciples, but not out of fa...

Re: Mahayana /Vajrayana attitude with Pali Canon?

greenjuice, see this old thread on the Manual of the Excellent Man : https://dhammawheel.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=40 Your notion of vajrayana as 'not wanting to escape' samsara is wrong. A voluntary return to birth on this planet is not samsara, nor is this planet or realm samsara. An automatic cycl...

Re: What kind of practice Shakyamuni was doing under the bodhi tree?

Dhyāna Master Zhiyi’s Preface As for the “six gates to the sublime (praṇīta),” they constitute the very root of one’s internal practice and the essential route to realization of the paths of the Three Vehicles. Hence, when Shākyamuni first arrived at the Bodhi Tree and sat down in lotus posture on ...

That was me asking you to continue - capeesh?
My previous language was opaque - I will only continue here if begged or bribed.

Or if the 'beggar' asks an intelligent question, with no contentious intent, based on a passage from the writings of HPB or WQ Judge.

For those who wish to become more familiar with theosophy as Blavatsky presented it, go over to this thread at Dharma Paths: https://dharmapaths.com/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=227 I will not inform (that is, irritate) you folks here anymore, unless asked to. This thread has provided, at least, some good ...
