Re: can you save a draft

Greetings Kim, Or you could be super-public-spirited and trial it here, where you have lots of users and should find out quickly whether it's working, before imposing dubious software on a poor struggling newbie board with (for a while) a lot less traffic. Or, more specifically, David and the webmas...

Though I am wondering with the software upgrades we've done if the draft function may actually work now if we enable it.
Maybe we can leave it on when DWE goes live.

If it works there we could try to bring it back here?

Paul. :)

Re: Dictionary.com is dumb and dishonest

Greetings Kim, I've just shared that to word-conscious friends and I'm looking forward to some outraged responses. I think why this re-definition irks me most, is that the new definition is literally the antonym of itself. So in effect, the word now simultaneously means [A] and NOT [A]. ......

Re: When racial division is the subtext of everything...

Greetings Idappaccayata, I agree. However, I think all sides of the political spectrum are going to need either dramatically evolve, or (hopefully) be replaced if we are going to continue to progress as a society. I agree, and I think it's already in progress - certainly amongst conservatives in the...

Re: When racial division is the subtext of everything...

Greetings, I would argue that you are engaging in identity politics Only so far as identifying and rebuking it. True, I guess I could ignore it, or banish it to another forum... plotting to keep racism alive so they can stay in power (they aren't in power). Thank god. The question is though, once it...

Greetings, When racial division is the subtext of everything... Since it become obvious that this could be used in politics with great success. :goodpost: Once people realised being perceived as disadvantaged constituted some kind of moral trump card which rendered any opposition ethically unnaccept...

Re: When racial division is the subtext of everything...

Greetings CJ, And just where is the "Dharmic perspective" in this sort of (typical and incessant) bear-baiting? It seems you have misunderstood the intent of the post, either mine or Tucker's. He is lamenting the increased prevalence in race-baiting. I share with him the hope it will end sooner rath...

I will never let myself be compassionate for wrong views!!
That's not what I asked, Lyndon, though it's an interesting Freudian slip.

Re: The Buddha's Politics

Greetings Lyndon, Of course conservatives will argue with anything, but they lack compassion. I don't think the Buddha's politics involved believing one own side's self-serving propaganda about their nemeses, did it? Do you think your false projections are compassionate? Are you following the Buddha...

Greetings Lyndon, You live in one of the most racist Western countries in the world, Retro, does that influence your opinions?? Do I? That's news to me. ... does that influence your opinions?? Re: Should I even be meditating yet?

Greetings,

Right View is the forerunner of the Noble Eightfold Path.

From Right View the other factors follow naturally, including those relating to sila (e.g. Right Action, Right Speech & Right Livelihood) and those relating to meditation (e.g. Right Mindfulness & Right Samadhi).
